Recipe capture tutorial

This tutorial will lead you through the steps to capture a recipe from the Internet.

  1. Select the Cooking Navigator tab.
  2. How?

  3. Open the new recipe dialog (click here to learn how).
    1. On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Recipe.
    2. Click the Recipe tab.
    3. Click the Cookbook Chapter ellipsis button and select My Chapter from the Select Chapter dialog.
    4. Tip  If the My Chapter chapter does not exist then click New Folder to create it.

  4. Copy a recipe from the Internet.
    1. Open a web browser window and navigate to a recipe web site such as www.allrecipes.com.
    2. Find a recipe you want to import.
    3. Click before the recipe title.
    4. Press shift and click after the end of the recipe.
    5. Press shift+C to copy the recipe text.
  5. Paste the recipe into the capture box.
    1. Click the Living Cookbook application to give it focus.
    2. Click the Capture tab.
    3. Click on the Capture box and press CTRL+V to paste the recipe text.
  6. Capture the recipe.
    1. Select the recipe name.
    2. Select Recipe Name from the Capture list and click the Capture button.
    3. Repeat step 2 for each of the capture types (recipe author, preparation time, ingredients, etc.).
    4. Click Next.
  7. Click OK to close the dialog.
