Recipe data entry tutorial
This tutorial will lead you through the process of creating a cookbook, a chapter
and a recipe in Diet Pro. By following these steps carefully you will become
familiar with the major features of the recipe interface.
- Select the Cooking Navigator tab.
How?
Create
a cookbook (click here to learn how).
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Cookbook.
- Click the Cookbook tab.
- Type the My Cookbook in the Cookbook Name box.
- Click OK.
Create
a cookbook chapter.
- On the Action menu, point to New, point to Folder,
and then click Chapter
- Type the My Chapter in the Chapter Name box.
- In the Cookbook box, select My Cookbook.
- Under , click Top level chapter.
- Click OK.
Open
the new recipe dialog.
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Recipe.
Enter
the recipe properties.
- Click the Recipe tab.
- Type the Tarragon Cream Sauce in the Recipe Name
box.
- Click the Cookbook Chapter ellipsis button
and select My Chapter from the Select Chapter dialog.
- Type the 5 in the Preparation Time box.
- Type the 10 in the Cooking Time box.
- Type the 15 in the Ready In box.
- Type the 4 in the Servings box.
- Type the 1 cup in the Yield box.
- Click the Recipe Type ellipsis button
and select Sauce in the Recipe Type dialog.
Enter
the recipe ingredients.
- Click the Ingredients tab.
- Type 2 in the Quantity column.
- Type Tbs in the Unit column.
- Type butter in the Ingredient column.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 with the following ingredients.
1/2 tsp dried tarragon
1 large shallot, finely chopped
1/2 Tbs flour
1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbs parsley, finely chopped
Enter
the recipe procedure.
- Click the Procedure tab.
- Type the following in the Procedure box: Melt butter in
a small saucepan until butter begins to turn hazelnut brown. Add the tarragon
and shallots and sauté until the shallots are tender.
- Repeat the step 2 with the following text: Add the wine and simmer
for 5 to 10 minutes. Then stir in the flour; add cream and milk and cook
until thickened. Stir in parsley; serve.
Enter
the cooking tips.
- Click the Tips tab.
- Type the following in the tip column: Do not cook the shallots
too long. They will give the sauce a bitter taste.
Enter
the recipe author information.
- Click the Author tab.
- Type Omaha Steaks in the Source box.
- Type www.omahasteaks.com in the Web Page box.
- Click OK.
