Recipe import tutorial

This tutorial will lead you through the steps to import Living Cookbook recipes.

Note: It is recommended that you try the recipe export tutorial first (otherwise you won't have a file to import).

  1. Select the Cooking Navigator tab.
  2. How?

  3. Open the import dialog (click here to learn how).
    1. On the File menu, click Import.
  4. Choose the recipe file type.

    1. Click Food Data Exchange (FDX).
    2. Click Next.
  5. Choose the import file.
    1. Click the Import File ellipsis button to select a file to import.
    2. Select My Documents from the Look in list.
    3. Select My Recipes.fdx.
    4. Click Open.
    5. Click the plus (+) sign next to Recipes to view the names of the recipes that are about to be imported.
    6. Click Next.
  6. Choose the import options.
    1. Click the Recipe Options ellipsis button to select the recipe import options.
    2. Type Recipe Import Tutorial in the New Cookbook box.
    3. Select all of the Recipe Elements.
    4. Select Import duplicate recipes.
    5. Click OK to close the Recipe Import Properties window.
    6. Click the Ingredient Options ellipsis button to select the ingredient import options.
    7. Type Recipe Import Tutorial in the New Folder box.
    8. Select all of the Ingredient Elements.
    9. Select Skip ingredients with duplicate ingredient names.
    10. Click OK to close the Ingredient Import Properties window.
    11. Click Next.
    12. Review the import progress.
  7. Click Finish to close the window.
